HIV AIDS Care

HIV AIDS is the single biggest catastrophe in history. It is estimated that AIDS will kill an estimated 70 million people over the next 20 years. 95% of all people with HIV/AIDS live in developing nations. HIV AIDS has infected huge percentages of whole communities and has orphaned millions of children. Working at the grassroots level, Family Care project partners strengthen communities through education and prevention and promote economic empowerment of caregivers and families. Family Care project partners provide care and comfort for those afflicted with AIDS, through AIDS awareness seminars, health programs, and counseling in schools, prisons, and other institutions. Other activities include school health programs, free medical treatment and medications, and programs for AIDS orphans.

Hunger Relief

You may have read these statistics before, but just pause and think about it for a moment:

  • Half of the population on earth, approximately 3 billion human beings, live on less than $2 a day.
  • One billion people live on $1 a day.

This creates circumstances unimaginable for most of us. Billions of people cannot afford an adequate diet or life’s essentials. Yet this is the harsh reality they face daily, unrelentingly. Family Care Foundation project managers work hard to bring both short-term relief and long-term solutions to communities around the world. Family Care Foundation project partners distribute food and other needs to the poor and homeless, support food factories, and assist orphanages and other institutions. Family Care Foundation programs include economic development and micro-enterprise to help families and communities develop long-term sustainability Family Care Foundation president Grant Montgomery adds, “In many emergencies, the measure of cost-effectiveness can be calculated in literal lives saved! Take last year for example, Family Care Foundation partner projects served 723,847 nutritious meals, as well as delivered 11,909,727 pounds (5,413,512 kg) of food to needy recipients worldwide.”

The need is so great and the impact so lasting that the care of orphans and street children is among Family Care Foundation’s most important international youth services.
